More on ElpelsoTV...

Told you there would be more frequent posts from now on, didn't I? But two in one day... Exaggerate...

Anyways, I wanted to give you some more info on the new ElpelsoTV. I intend to upload some of the funnier video clips I have received over the years, and which have accumulated on my computer(s) all this time... I hope you will get as much joy from them as I do/did.

Good observers will also discover a new links section to the right of this blog. I've been playing around with adapting the page layout, and trying to incorporate some external links etc.

For starters, you can check out the blogs of some people very dear to me. David was my host-brother in the U.S.A. in a long (but never forgotten) past and has his blog here. Becca and I go back about the same length of time. Together with her husband Brian, she is traveling around the world, and you can read all about their exploits right here. A very interesting trip, to say the least.

The people that know me well also know that I am a big fan of movies and music, the NBA and one particular brand of computers (hint : one a day keeps the doctor away!). One of the "newer" possibilities on the internet is that virtually anyone can make a "radioshow" online. Much like the video channel I have set up today, anyone with the appropriate (inexpensive) gear can have a go at making themselves heard, on any topic you can possibly imagine. These shows are commonly called "podcasts", and if you've never listened to one, you really should try. A very easy way to do so is to go and download a free copy of iTunes, the renowned digital jukebox. It allows you easily to subscribe to a multitude of podcasts, most of them (as of yet) entirely free. It rarely gets better than this. It also allows you to quickly buy music online through the iTMS music store, or just to encode your own CD's in whatever format you desire. Check it out, you won't regret it !!!

One of the best podcasts out there is without question Adam Curry's. His Daily Source Code is a true gem.

One other podcast is worth mentioning to you today. If you are into Blues music at all, then check out The Roadhouse, a weekly show that plays some fabulous tunes. Most of the tracks are taken from Garageband.com, where bands allow you to listen to their music for free. Fantastic !!! And a great podcast it makes ! To use its owner's saying : it's "The Finest Blues You've Never Heard".

One other superb way to listen to these podcasts of course is to get yourself one of these fabulous players. So many different models and styles to choose from. How can you pass that up?

To wrap up this lengthy post, I will make mention that all of the above was made possible thanks to some free and some inexpensive software running on my trusty Mac computer. I've been a Mac user for 19 years now, working my way through various models (6 in total, and my dad 2 more), all but one of which I still own (and some of which I still use regularly). I know PC-lovers think their machines are the best on the planet. I disagree. All I can say is make the switch and find out what you have been missing all along...

That's enough rambling for today. Until next time... Sayonara !!!
