20MacApps

On the heels of recent Mac software events and bundles, the first details of an upcoming and much interesting one have been received. Prepare yourselves, because 20MacApps has just launched with one of the most appealing events as of today.

So here are the details: 20MacApps will start taking pre-orders for its ˜ you guessed it ˜ 20 apps as a bundle going for $40, a 90% discount from the final price. The bundle will increase an additional 1% in price each day until February 1st. If you're an early adopter, they'll even give you a nice gift: Pangea Software's Billy Frontier. Also, you will be getting the apps one day before anyone else, if that is of importance to you. Then, by February 1st, each new app will be revealed every fortnight (two weeks) and will be sold individually for $20 each (even though some could have been worth more!) . And yes, they're all new and exclusive apps, so unlike surprise bundles of the past, it looks like we won't end up worrying on whether we'll have a second copy of an app to spare.

The CEO of NameNetwork Ltd assured me that there will be apps from both well-known Mac developers, as well as newcomers to the Mac software business. And the apps will be diverse, as shown by the list that was provided to me, which details all the apps:

Productivity app, Game, Video app, Finance app, Business app, Audio app, Game, Home and learning app, Web design app or RW plugin, Email and chat app, Security app, Development tool app, Game, Audio app, Imaging and 3D app, Utility app, System tool app, Business app, Web app, Game.

„Oh, and all of these apps are going to be getting at least 4/5 on MacUpdate, or we're disowning and replacing them," NameNetwork Ltd's CEO added. But when asked if he could slip by an app's or developer's name, he declined, but then quickly added, „I might mention that we have an app that allows you to put sticky notes on any window anywhere on your Mac, and it saves and remembers them. Like a view of all stickies per app in like a directory."

As an interesting note, the first 100 bundle buyers or so, will be receiving beta passes. These lucky buyers will be able to see the apps before anyone else! There will also be a pre-launch forum where feedback will be appreciated about the new apps.
